About Claire Samuels Law, PLLC

Claire was born in Jackson, Mississippi.  Even as a young girl, Claire knew she wanted to help protect those who could not protect themselves.  In 2006, Claire graduated from Loyola University School of Law and she has been practicing family law in Charlotte for over 13 years.

Claire was personally trained by Bill Diehl, known for his merciless, take-no-prisoners approach to divorce in Charlotte. The tactics she learned and utilized won cases for well over a decade. But the financial and emotional impacts of litigation proved disastrous for everyone involved. The fallout was worse when children were caught in the middle. Litigation rarely provided any meaningful or long-lasting resolution, and often fueled hostility and malice between the parties for years to come. Claire knew there had to be a way to dissolve a marriage without destroying a family.

Claire witnessed the transformative process for both parties when they chose to resolve their differences outside the courtroom. Sustainable, voluntary resolutions were agreed upon rather than judgement imposed by the court. A more peaceful process ensued, especially for the youngest involved.

Divorce is not what damages your children. The high conflict between their parents is what inflicts the most pain and causes the most damage, often lingering well into adulthood. This reality is why Claire is committed to supporting and educating her clients about alternative resolutions that will empower them to resolve their legal disputes while preserving the civility that allows them to raise healthy and well-adjusted children.

Claire’s approach to divorce aligns with your core values, promotes healing, and minimizes trauma.  Claire calls this respectful and dignified choice A Becoming Divorce™. You have a choice about the process you choose and the impact it will have on your children. What will be their “divorce” story?

Claire’s commitment to protecting women and children extends to her fierce support of related nonprofit organizations. She is on the board of directors for the Jamie Kimble Foundation for Courage, as well as an active member of the Women’s Impact Fund, the Charlotte Community Leadership Council for the Children’s Home Society of North Carolina and the Mint Museum Auxiliary.

In her free time, Claire enjoys running, yoga, and Hilliard Studio Method. She and her husband, Michael Morley, live in Charlotte, NC with their two fur babies, Deacon and Lily Lu.
